Injection
What to inspect before injecting
WEGOVY® solution should be inspected visually prior to each injection and should be clear, colourless, and contain no particles. Do not use WEGOVY® if particulate matter or colouration is seen. WEGOVY® should not be used if it does not appear clear and colourless, or almost colourless. WEGOVY® should not be used if it has been frozen.[3]Section 4.4, page 10
Injection sites and rotation
Administer WEGOVY® subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Change (i.e. rotate) the site of injection for each administration. The time of day of the injection and the injection site can be changed without dose adjustment.[3]Section 4.4, page 10
Route restrictions
Do not administer WEGOVY® intravenously or intramuscularly.[3]Section 4.4, page 10
Single-patient use; no mixing
The WEGOVY® pen is for use by one person only. Substances added to WEGOVY® may cause degradation of semaglutide. WEGOVY® must not be mixed with other medicinal products, e.g. infusion fluids.[4]Section 12, page 29
Needle removal after each injection (FlexTouch® multi-use pen)
Always remove the injection needle after each injection and store the pen without a needle attached. This may prevent blocked needles, contamination, infection, leakage of solution and inaccurate dosing.[1]Section 11, page 28

Store the WEGOVY® single-use pen in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. If needed, each single-use pen, prior to cap removal, can be kept at a temperature below 30°C for a total of 28 days. Storage of the WEGOVY® single-use pen in the original carton is recommended until time of administration. Do not freeze WEGOVY® and do not use WEGOVY® if it has been frozen.
