Ozempic Prescription Online in Ontario: Providers & Cost (2026)

Updated October 13, 2026
Online providers on our list that serve Ontario and whose own website says they prescribe Ozempic: HIMS Canada, MedExpress, Felix, Jill Health, Pocketpills, Raven, Ogaei, Tia Health and Maple. The CMA notes that Ontario's Drug Benefit Program lists Ozempic as a Limited Use drug, meaning a doctor must confirm it meets the program's specific medical rules before it's dispensed under ODB (CMA). The same providers and provincial rules apply whether you live in Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton or Hamilton. For how getting a prescription online works, what it costs and the red flags, see how to get an Ozempic prescription online in Canada.

What's different in Ontario
Ozempic's Health Canada authorization is for type 2 diabetes; a doctor may prescribe it off-label for other reasons, which the CMA notes is lawful and is a decision between a patient and their prescriber (CMA). That fact doesn't change by province — it's the backdrop for everything below, including why Ontario's own drug benefit program treats Ozempic the way it does. See the Canada-wide guide for the monograph text itself.
What this page covers instead: what an Ontario pharmacist can and can't do for you directly, which telehealth providers have confirmed they serve Ontario, how the province's public drug programs work procedurally, and where to actually fill the prescription once you have one.
Family doctor, walk-in, and pharmacist scope in Ontario
Your family doctor. OHIP "covers the full cost of your services — as long as they're medically necessary" (ontario.ca, What OHIP covers), so a regular visit to bill a medically necessary consultation carries no direct charge to you. The advantage isn't the billing, though — it's the same one described in the Canada-wide guide: a doctor who already has your chart is better positioned to document history and follow up over time.
A walk-in clinic. If you see a doctor there, OHIP covers the visit on the same basis. A clinician you're meeting for the first time is working from what you can tell them in the room, nothing more — the same limitation as anywhere else in Canada.
A pharmacist. In Ontario specifically, a pharmacist cannot start a new Ozempic prescription. The Ontario College of Pharmacists' own list of conditions a pharmacist may independently prescribe for covers defined minor ailments, plus smoking-cessation drugs, oseltamivir for influenza, and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir for COVID-19 — none of which reach a GLP-1 medication like Ozempic (Ontario College of Pharmacists, October 2026 version).
An Ontario pharmacist can help with an Ozempic prescription a doctor or nurse practitioner already wrote. They can renew it for continuity of care, up to the lesser of the original quantity or a 12-month supply. They can also adapt its dose, form, regimen or route, but not switch you to a different drug (Ontario College of Pharmacists).
Alberta is the only jurisdiction in Canada where independent pharmacist prescribing for any Schedule I drug is implemented (CPhA) — Ontario is not that province. See our Who Can Prescribe GLP-1s in Canada guide for the full 13-jurisdiction comparison, each row sourced to its own regulator.
Telehealth in Ontario
Telehealth is a practical route if you don't have a regular Ontario provider — but confirm any service you're considering actually serves Ontario before you pay; not every provider covers every province.
The table at the top of this page lists the online providers on our list that serve Ontario and whose own website says they prescribe Ozempic, with their fees. Confirm which medication a provider will prescribe for you, and its current price, before you start an intake. Approval is not guaranteed.

Ontario's public drug programs — how the process works
Ontario's public drug program is the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB). You may be covered if you have OHIP and are 65 or older, 24 or younger without a private plan, living in long-term care, on Ontario Works or ODSP, receiving home and community care, or enrolled in the Trillium Drug Program (ontario.ca). Trillium is the income-based part: it helps people whose drug costs are high compared to their household income (ontario.ca, Trillium). The Exceptional Access Program (EAP) "facilitates patient access to drugs not funded on the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) Formulary." A doctor or nurse practitioner makes the request, and you must already be eligible for ODB (ontario.ca, EAP).
The CMA notes that Ontario's Drug Benefit Program lists Ozempic as a Limited Use drug, meaning a doctor must confirm it meets the program's specific medical rules before it's dispensed under ODB (CMA). This page describes that a confirmation step exists — not what the rules are, and not whether you'd meet them; that's between you, your doctor, and the program.
Whether ODB, Trillium, or the EAP process actually applies to your situation is worth confirming directly — through ontario.ca, your pharmacist, or your prescriber — rather than assuming from this page. Check medication coverage (ontario.ca).
If you have private insurance instead, our insurance coverage checker walks through the prior-authorization process most private plans use for GLP-1 medications, and works the same way regardless of province.
Where to fill it in Ontario and what it costs
A valid Ozempic prescription can generally be filled at any licensed Ontario pharmacy — chains, independents, or mail-order. Pharmacies set their own cash prices, and the spread between them for an identical pen is often wider than people expect.
Across 5 pharmacies in Ontario, Ozempic runs $241–$310 per pen (updated October 29, 2026).
Current pharmacy-by-pharmacy listings, including the cheapest pharmacy currently found in Ontario, live on the Ozempic in Ontario price table. Since generic semaglutide became available in Canada, the generic Ozempic cost guide for Ontario is also worth reading. How we collect and verify these numbers is documented on our methodology page.
No family doctor in Ontario?
Not having a family doctor doesn't disqualify you from care, and it's common enough to be the norm for millions of people across Canada, Ontario included. Two routes still work without one: a walk-in clinic (OHIP covers a doctor's visit there) and telehealth. Whichever you choose, bring what you can — recent bloodwork, a current medication list, your pharmacy's records — since no one is holding a longitudinal chart on your behalf.
We've written a full guide to this specific problem: how to get a GLP-1 prescription in Canada without a family doctor — walk-in clinics, telehealth, pharmacist prescribing by province, and what changes at renewal.
Red flags
The same fraud warning signs apply in Ontario as anywhere in Canada. The CMA states plainly that if a site says you can get a GLP-1 drug without a prescription, that's a major red flag (CMA). Health Canada adds that a legitimate online pharmacy "Requires a valid prescription from a physician or other health practitioner licensed to practice in Canada," is licensed by a provincial or territorial pharmacy regulatory authority — in Ontario, that's the Ontario College of Pharmacists — and provides a street address located in Canada (Health Canada, Choosing a safe online pharmacy).

- Guide published, verified August 25, 2026.
- The pharmacy price sentence now reads "updated" with the date of our newest price record.
- The provider table now lists only providers whose own website says they prescribe Ozempic, with when each fee was read. The telehealth section and FAQ no longer single out one provider. New page description.
- Corrected the descriptions of ODB, Trillium, the Exceptional Access Program, OHIP and the pharmacist renewal rules to match their sources. The walk-in answer now says what OHIP covers for doctor and nurse practitioner visits.
