Online providers on our list that serve Ontario and whose own website says they prescribe Zepbound: HIMS Canada, MedExpress, Felix, Jill Health, Pocketpills, Raven and Ogaei. Zepbound is not on the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary in effect from September 29, 2026, or on the Exceptional Access Program list (ontario.ca). The same providers and provincial rules apply whether you live in Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton or Hamilton. What's different in Ontario
Zepbound's Health Canada approval is for chronic weight management in adults, with body mass index (BMI) criteria set out in its monograph (Zepbound Product Monograph, section 1). Those criteria are the same in every province. See the Canada-wide guide for the monograph text.
What this page covers instead: what an Ontario pharmacist can and can't do for you, how Ontario's public drug programs treat Zepbound, and where to fill the prescription once you have one.
Family doctor, walk-in, and pharmacist scope in Ontario
Your family doctor. OHIP "covers the full cost of your services β as long as they're medically necessary" (ontario.ca, What OHIP covers), so a medically necessary visit costs you nothing directly. A doctor who has your chart can also record a measured height and weight and any weight-related condition, which the BMI criteria refer to.
A walk-in clinic. If you see a doctor there, OHIP covers the visit on the same basis. A clinician meeting you for the first time can measure you, but only has the history you tell them.
A pharmacist. In Ontario, a pharmacist cannot start a new Zepbound prescription. The Ontario College of Pharmacists' independent-prescribing list covers defined minor ailments plus smoking-cessation drugs, oseltamivir for influenza, and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir for COVID-19. None of these is a GLP-1 medication (Ontario College of Pharmacists, October 2026 version).
An Ontario pharmacist can help with a Zepbound prescription a doctor or nurse practitioner already wrote. They can renew it for continuity of care, up to the lesser of the original quantity or a 12-month supply. They can also adapt its dose, form, regimen or route, but not switch you to a different drug (Ontario College of Pharmacists).
Alberta is the only jurisdiction in Canada where independent pharmacist prescribing for any Schedule I drug is implemented (CPhA). Ontario is not. See who can prescribe GLP-1s in Canada for every province and territory.
Getting a Zepbound prescription online in Ontario
An online visit is a practical route if you don't have a regular Ontario provider. Confirm that a service serves Ontario before you pay; not every provider covers every province.
The table at the top of this page lists the online providers on our list that serve Ontario and whose own website says they prescribe Zepbound, with their fees. Confirm which medication a provider will prescribe for you, and its current price, before you start an intake. Approval is not guaranteed.

Ontario's public drug programs β what happens for Zepbound
Ontario's public drug program is the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB). You may be covered if you have OHIP and are 65 or older, 24 or younger without a private plan, living in long-term care, on Ontario Works or ODSP, receiving home and community care, or enrolled in the Trillium Drug Program (ontario.ca). Trillium is the income-based part: it helps people whose drug costs are high compared to their household income (ontario.ca, Trillium).
Zepbound is on neither the ODB Formulary in effect from September 29, 2026 nor the Exceptional Access Program list. Ontario's tool says a drug missing from both may be new or under review, and that other programs may offer coverage (ontario.ca). That fits the CMA's general point that "public drug plans generally do not cover" GLP-1 drugs approved for chronic weight management (CMA).
The Exceptional Access Program (EAP) "facilitates patient access to drugs not funded on the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) Formulary." A doctor or nurse practitioner makes the request, and you must already be eligible for ODB (ontario.ca, EAP).
If you have private insurance instead, our insurance coverage checker walks through the prior-authorization process most private plans use for GLP-1 medications, and works the same way regardless of province.
Where to fill it in Ontario and what it costs
A valid Zepbound prescription can generally be filled at any licensed Ontario pharmacy: chains, independents or mail-order. Pharmacies set their own cash prices, and the same pen can cost more at one than at another.
Across 6 pharmacies in Ontario, Zepbound runs $345β$595 per pen (updated October 29, 2026).
Pharmacy-by-pharmacy prices, including the cheapest we found in Ontario, are on the Zepbound in Ontario price table. Read the MyZepbound savings card guide before you pay cash. How we collect prices is on our methodology page.
No family doctor in Ontario?
Not having a family doctor doesn't stop you getting care. Two routes still work: a walk-in clinic (OHIP covers a doctor's visit there) and an online visit. Bring what you can, such as recent bloodwork, blood pressure readings, past diagnoses and your pharmacy's records, since the BMI criteria refer to weight-related conditions.

Red flags
The same warning signs apply in Ontario as anywhere in Canada. The CMA says that if a site offers a GLP-1 drug without a prescription, that's a major red flag (CMA). Health Canada says a legitimate online pharmacy "Requires a valid prescription from a physician or other health practitioner licensed to practice in Canada," is licensed by a provincial or territorial pharmacy regulatory authority (in Ontario, the Ontario College of Pharmacists), and gives a street address in Canada (Health Canada, Choosing a safe online pharmacy).
Every tirzepatide product in Health Canada's Drug Product Database is made by Eli Lilly (Drug Product Database), so a "generic Zepbound" offered online is a warning sign. See the full checklist on the Canada-wide guide.

Update log
- Guide published, verified August 26, 2026.
- Felix's tirzepatide prices are no longer quoted with a fixed date; the Felix review has its current prices. The pharmacy price sentence now reads "updated" with the date of our newest price record.
- New title and first paragraph, and a table of online providers that serve Ontario and whose own website says they prescribe Zepbound. Added Zepbound's ODB and EAP status. The page no longer singles out one provider. Corrected the descriptions of ODB, Trillium, EAP, OHIP and the pharmacist renewal rules to match their sources.
- The walk-in clinic text and FAQ now say what OHIP covers for doctor and nurse practitioner visits.
