Is a generic version of Ozempic available in Canada?
Generic semaglutide is now available in Canada. Three products have been approved by Health Canada: Dr. Reddy's (April 28, 2026) and Apotex's Apo-Semaglutide Injection (May 1, 2026), which reference Ozempic, plus Sevmia (Apotex) — the first generic referencing Wegovy — on June 29, 2026. Felix Health is dispensing Apo-Semaglutide at $149/month all-in; other major chains are receiving inventory. Novo Nordisk has also launched authorized generics: Plosbrio (equivalent to Ozempic) and Poviztra (equivalent to Wegovy).
